Linden (Tilia cordata) is a species of Tilia, native to Europe. Major active constituents in linden are flavonoids and glycosides. Flavonoids are potent antioxidants and glycosides are monosaccharides that have water-binding properties. Hence, linden flower extract is not only used to treat a wide range of health problems including soothe nerves, high blood pressure and headaches, but also to moisturize the skin.
