Human recombinant FABP3 protein fragment (around aa1-127) (exact sequence is proprietary)
Alternative Synonym:
422 protein, Cardiac Fatty Acid Binding Protein, Fatty acid binding protein 11 (FABP11), Fatty acid binding protein 3, muscle and heart (mammary derived growth inhibitor), H-FABP, Heart type fatty acid binding protein, M FABP, Mammary derived growth inhibitor, MDGI, Muscle fatty acid binding protein, Mylein protein P2 homolog / adopocyte
The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belongs to a multigene family. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. They may also be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation. Fatty acid-binding protein 3 gene contains four exons and its function is to arrest growth of mammary epithelial cells. This gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene for human breast cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Analysis of Protein Array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins using FABP3 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (FABP3/3430). Z- and S- Score: The Z-score represents the strength of a signal that a monoclonal antibody (MAb) (in combination with a fluorescently-tagged anti-IgG secondary antibody) produces when binding to a particular protein on the HuProtTM array. Z-scores are described in units of standard deviations (SDs) above the mean value of all signals generated on that array. If targets on HuProtTM are arranged in descending order of the Z-score, the S-score is the difference (also in units of SDs) between the Z-score. S-score therefore represents the relative target specificity of a MAb to its intended target. A MAb is considered to specific to its intended target, if the MAb has an S-score of at least 2.5. For example, if a MAb binds to protein X with a Z-score of 43 and to protein Y with a Z-score of 14, then the S-score for the binding of that MAb to protein X is equal to 29.
