Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa300-350 at the internal portion of human MSR1. Localization: membrane, single-pass type II membrane protein.
Macrophage scavenger receptors (MSR) are membrane glycoproteins that mediate the recognition and uptake of a variety of macromolecules, including modified lipoproteins, advanced glycation end (AGEs) products and amyloid b-protein (Abeta). While the normal role of MSR is associated with cell adhesion and host defense mechanisms, it also has been implicated in the development of atherosclerosis and Abeta deposition in Alzheimers disease (AD). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 2ug/ml, a band is observed at ~50kD Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
