Ac-YVAD-AFC is a specifically designed fluorescent Caspase-1 substrate. Ac-YVAD-AFC can be specifically cleaved by activated Caspase-1, thereby releasing free AFC fluorophore for detection. Ac-YVAD-AFC is a powerful tool for quantitative analysis of enzyme activity, for example, playing a key role in studying TNF-alpha-induced Caspase-1 activation in adipocyte lysates.
