Leukocytes harvested from pleural cavity of patients with idiopathic spontaneous pneumothorax.
CD163 cell surface antigen, a 130-140kD glycoprotein expressed by tissue macrophages, is not expressed by resting peripheral blood leukocytes, but expression may be induced on monocytes by culture in dexamethasone. Reported to inhibit the binding of haptoglobin-hemoglobin to CD163. Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional studies. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
